EEO 5.0 - The aimless days

Written by Equipo Easy On at 16:29 17/1-2016

  Season 20 through 23 (approx)

The sell-out of the team of EEO, Germans and Caribbeans left EEO with millions of OCM$'s. Rubbing his hands and totally free of any economical wisdom and necessities, now I could go and scout literately anyone with a flag I liked and plenty of new riders on the TL. Within days, several 100k were wasted on scouting.

A handful of decent talents showed up and were trained. Even their training successes were decent. Quite opportunistic, I decided to go for a CLimbing squad which I had never had. The team was neatly composed and for a while we cycled along in Div 3 and 2. However, as I still liked to scout way too much, I sold most of the expensive equipment successively.

Until I was finally too bored and annoyed and gave up playing. Why annoyed? Hmm, I always considered TopForm as some kind of cheating and too cumbersome to manage. Team Spirit is a nice concept, but the implementation was not right I find. The wrong actions are rewarded. But I will get back to this.

  What's left?

A few of the guys from that phase are still in the team as trainers.

If it ever needed to be proven, scouting is not a commercially successful strategy in this game, and so is training your own riders. I could only do it several times because of old money and because my team got weaker each and every time - a pity in my view

But still, at one point in time, EEO came back ...

Of course training should not be a way to make money - however, some reward for actually doing some youth work would be nice. I will get back to this in a later press release

BrokenChain at 16:26 18/1-2016
I think Nick said training isn't meant to be rewarding or else everyone would be trained

Equipo Easy On at 08:12 18/1-2016
Of course it can be done to get to Div 1. If you are lucky scouting and training, then it is actually easy. If you are unlucky, no (a 46 AVG guy will not get you far today). But that is not the point (and I am not whinging!), I just think training your own riders should be rewarded more.

@Rigana, I do the same, and I have a pretty solid position in Div 2 - in Div 1 I am too bad. However, I hav

Rigana at 04:04 18/1-2016
I train all my own riders, but for an occasional lo/pave pacer. Result? Div 1/div 2 yo yo.

johny2 at 23:21 17/1-2016
As in part 3 i watched your team once in a while. I remember your sell out and the mayhem after. First i thought you bought all the expensive gear but dropping only 4k at a time i quickly found out you spent around 1mil in svouting in just a few days.

V02maXXers at 21:49 17/1-2016
I agree on one thing. Div 3 is probably most fun. Would like to come back there at some point. ;-)

trackstah07 at 21:17 17/1-2016
I shouldn't have said "get to Div. 1," I should have said "have sustained success in Div. 1" :P I mean, I've done it once with only downhillers... it was short-lived though, and it wouldn't have been possible if they hadn't each been top-15 in the world at some point.

V02maXXers at 20:34 17/1-2016
Of course it can be done. Some knowledge of the game, patience and dedication is all it takes.

Team WonderDee at 18:38 17/1-2016
I have made it to 1st div. with only own trained captains. Done it twice, first with the duo Øgendahl and Lundberg and last season with Lundberg and Kaspersen. And a bonus Lundberg is a YA rider. So it can be done.

trackstah07 at 18:23 17/1-2016
*but I would rather be a self-made millionaire!

trackstah07 at 18:23 17/1-2016
It's almost impossible to get to Div. 1 without buying at least one captain from somebody else, already trained. That's why I'm happy (and proud) to be in Div. 3. I train all of my own riders, and to be in Div. 3 doing that (and not cheesing the game in any other way) is just as good as being in Div. 1 in my eyes. People can be billionaires from inheritance and lucrative corporate takeovers, but I

Team WonderDee at 18:03 17/1-2016
Agree, sad that training is not rewarded more in the game. Then buying trained riders from other.
